Music and Art

My art has always been influenced by music. I have the CD player turned up loud and frequently dance while I paint.
I used to paint to the music of Deep Forest. This is a collection of songs from the rain forest people. I came up with some really wild abstracts listening to this music.
Next I started painting while listening to Enya. This is very mellow music, almost dirgelike. I started my "black" period of painting with this music. All the paintings had black as a background.
Several recording artist influenced my work such as Billy Idol (good for strenous painting), Seal was good for florals for some reason. It all flowed nicely listening to him. Moby was another good musician for abstract painting.
Recently I have been listening to Cirque du Soleil "Solarium". My series "Femme" came from this music. I also listen to Santana "Supernatural" when I am in my contemporary southwest mode.
I love eclectic music and art.
I would be unable to paint if I did not have the music. It is a collaboration.

The only ones watching me paint and dance are my cats. *LOL*

I usually listen to NPR. I like to dance, but don't dance when I paint.
I do have several cups of coffee lost somewhere in the studio and I spend a considerable amount of time looking for my coffee.
