I started painting marbles last year (2004). I had been collecting antique marbles for a while and one day I noticed how beautiful they were in the sunlight. I started taking digital pictures of them and decided to try painting them. I started with small watercolors. I found it was very difficult to paint them that way and went to acrylics.
I developed a "formula" to paint these....involving the lids to my cooking skillets. I also went to a very large size canvas. The impact of these huge marbles was very addictive to me. I had to keep on painting them. Luckily Ebay was there to be the vehicle for the sales.
Whenever I am in an antique store I look for more marbles. I have enough marbles to keep me in painting material forever. I have some favorites....especially the red ones.
I have been told that I am the "Marble Lady" *LOL* better than some things I could be called.
