Memories of Tuscany

The place where I was born is s small hamlet with a few houses and a church, deep in the mountains of Garfagnana, Tuscany. I have very few memories of this place...a huge wood burning fireplace and the taste of "necci" ( chestnut flour cakes). I have better memories of Pisa, where my grandma lived...a small enclosed garden, the leaning Tower, whipped cream and wafers, a public fountain where I always wanted to drink on the way from the market.
Memories of a child, simple memories.
Are my painting infused with shreds of these memories? It is possible, as they are simple paintings. A colorful, serene Tuscany seen with the eyes of a child, a place where Poppies sway in the wind and houses have roofs of a fiery, unrealistic red. A magic place with white country roads and ancient olive trees, sweet, sticky figs, and huge sunflowers under the blue, blue sky.
