There is a new announcement out in reference to Finding and a great new way to shop art on eBay.

Here is the scoop:

"Hello All –

We wanted to share some exciting news from the Finding tests. Our first round of testing is completed for Finding 2.0 and one of the many things we have found is that the Art Category is doing exceptionally well in the new environment. Buyers who search and browse in the new environment find, and buy, more art.

We believe this is due to many factors:

• It is easier to find Self Representing Artists inventory. This is now integrated into Art Categories based on type, so you can find their Paintings in the Paintings Category as well as in the Self Representing Artists domain. Additionally, ACEOs are integrated in the Self Representing Artists category, so you no longer have to navigate to a different category to find them.
  
  
• Searching or Browsing for Folk Art shows you all of the Folk Art. Folk Art items in Art are now integrated with the Primitives category in Antiques. The finding category is Folk Art & Primitives. (However, once in the finding category, you are still able to browse only Primitives or only Art if you choose.)
  
  
• The Digital Art, Mixed Media & Other Art categories are now browseable on a deeper level than is currently available on eBay.com
  
  
• Refining your query is easier in many areas. We have more values in Subject & style from which to choose to narrow your search in most areas.
  

This all adds up to a more enriched search experience for the Art World.

Because of these positive test results, we have decided to increase traffic to the new environment for users who are searching or browsing Art from 1% to up to 20%. This should translate to increased sales for the community and allow us to measure results on a larger set of users.

We are in the process of rolling out features to the environment as well. By the end of the week, look for Advanced, Description, Completed, improved stores, cross border items and other new search functionality to be available. You may see changes in item counts, inventory and layout until the roll out of these features are complete.
